What is the star system?
The star system calculates the number of pieces that were handled by Conchology, Inc. in the last 21 years:

| 11 - 25 pieces | 4 stars | |
| 26 - 75 pieces | 3 stars | |
| 76 - 150 pieces | 2 stars | |
| > 150 pieces | 1 star | |
We want to point out that the star system is only very reliable for PHILIPPINE shells only, as we handle very few foreign shells in general. As time goes, the system will become more and more performant.
SIR Shell Image Recognition
SIR is a term used by Conchology, Inc. to recognize a certain shell among the thousands of pictures in our databases. We developed SIR as a new and innovative way that helps in the determination of shells.
SIR uses Artificial intelligence algorithms to match and find similar species. Although the programming and implementation is still in the “beta” stage, we here offer you this additional tool for your personal use.
Sometimes the Similarity Search gives perfect results, sometimes it does not (yet) succeed properly.
- Click 'Choose File' to upload your image you would like to search.
- Fill in the Family name to make the search result more accurate.
- Click "Perform Similarity Search."
The results will show after 5 seconds.
