The star system calculates the number of pieces that were handled by Conchology, Inc. in the last 21 years:

We want to point out that the star system is only very reliable for PHILIPPINE shells only, as we handle very few foreign shells in general. As time goes, the system will become more and more performant.

The live landsnail gallery is a repository of images submitted by photographers from all over the world.
The digital revolution allows us all to document living animals better than ever before. Many of the millions of photos taken each year are never shared, and when they do, often they disappear in obscurity. Posting an image on megasites, will only be visible for a maximum of a few days, before it is gone in the many millions of posts and you will never find it back.
We therefore invite you to save under your own authorship and copyright the valuable in-situ data and your photographs. You do not need to know the scientific name to upload, as long as there are correct locality data with the photo.

The photographs and data uploaded remain your property and you keep full author rights on them.
There will be a delay of hours, eventually one day, between your upload and the going online. There may also be a time-zone problem, as at 6 pm in Europe it is already midnight in the Philippines, or in the central USA there is a gap of 12 hours. We count on your comprehension for such practical problems.
In case the image is not well leveled or taken without white balance and the like, we reserve the right to ameliorate it. Inappropriate images will not be accepted.
In case we get demand for the use of your images by interested parties, we will forward you the contact to handle this off in private between the demander and photographer.
This site is limited to land and freshwater shells. In case you are interested to upload underwater photos of living marine snails, please contact us, we may be happy to provide a tool for these if the present homepage is successful.
As for your information, Conchology, Inc. has between 18 to 20 million visitors a year, so, your photographs may be viewed by thousands as time goes.
