Larger, .50 by 1.50; peristome .42, aperture .30; margin not as wide .08 and not greatly widened at either end of frontal bar; costae 25 a little narrower than interspaces. Color dark ashy.
HABITAT. I found this species imbedded in hardening sand and partly fossilized on a gray hill at the extreme northern end of Great Guana Key, Map 2. B. [sic, actually Map 2 D]

OBSERVATIONS: Very common, but I collected fifty specimens only. Undoubted ly the ancestor of S. progressa.
