Geographic Distribution:
Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands
Type Locality:
West end of Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands
[19° 43' N, -79° 48' W]

This species of Strophia cccurs on the west end of Cayman Brac, near the northern terminus of the path that crosses the key near the houses.

            I found this species very rare on the margin of the path near the area occupied by S. parva. They were rather solitary in habit, and occurred on the low herbage which offered them an opportunity for con­cealment." (Maynard, 1889:26)



Type Material:
Lectotype, MCZ 246344
Clench (1964:368, pl. 63, fig. 10) designated and figured as lectotype MCZ 246344. The other syntype became a paralectotype. The remaining 14 specimens have no status as types (Harasewych et al., 2007:380).
