Geographic Distribution:
Oriente Province, Cuba
Type Locality:
Cape Maisi, Guantánamo Province, Oriente, Cuba.
[20° 20' N, -75° 59' W]



Type Material:
Lectotype, ANSP 146965

Baker (1963:206) designated the lectotype [ANSP 146965] based on a published photograph (fig. 8) and labeled it as ANSP 146964 a.  Now ANSP 146964 (see Boyko & Rosenberg, 1999:46).  ANSP 400358 contains 1 paralectotype.

Remarks:
Boyko & Rosenberg (1999:46-47) discuss the attribution of this taxon to Pilsbry rather than de la Torre, as had been cited (eg. Clench, 1957:157), and provide data on type specimens, type locality.
