The star system calculates the number of pieces that were handled by Conchology, Inc. in the last 21 years:
0 – 5 pieces

11 - 25 pieces

We want to point out that the star system is only very reliable for PHILIPPINE shells only, as we handle very few foreign shells in general. As time goes, the system will become more and more performant.
Strophiops inquita Maynard and Clapp in Maynard, 1920
"23. S. inquita.
A singular species occurring on Fowl Key where I found it in 1915 nearly exterminated by cultivation, and in 11 small isolated groups, each of which was reincarnated with a separate species! The specimen figured with an unknown species. Plate 4. figs. 2, 3. [caption to figures as S. inquieta]." (Maynard and Clapp in Maynard, 1920d:121)
There are an unspecified number of paralectotypes, including MCZ 357005 (14 specimens).

No MolluscaBase Information Found.
Remarks:
The taxon name originally appeared as Strophiops inquita in the heading of the original description, but as S. inquieta in the caption to the figures in the plate. The spelling inquieta is an "incorrect original spelling" [Article 32.5.1, ICZN, 1999:39] and thus has no separate availability [Article 32.4, ICZN, 1999:39]. Clench (1957:149) listed this species as inquita. Maynard (1920d:121) reported that this taxon was nearly exterminated by cultivation when he encountered it in 1915.
