Geographic Distribution:
Eleuthera Island, Bahama Islands
Type Locality:
Rock Sound, Eleuthera (designated by Clench, 1952:107)
[25° 10' N, -76° 14' W]

Clench (1934:210) noted that the exact locality of eleutherae has never been ascertained, and speculated that it "probably exists somewhere in the northern portion of the island."  Later, Clench (1952:107) selected Rock Sound as the type locality, noting that Krebs had visited this locality.
