Remarks:

The binomen S. crassamarga was published in the caption beneath the figures [plate 39, figs. 7, 8] cited in the original description of Strophiops crassalabra Maynard and Clapp in Maynard, 1921b:143, and was not used subsequently by Maynard, who listed the taxon as S. crassilabra in the sales catalog (Maynard, undated, 1924?:[6]). Strophiops crassamarga has the same type specimens and type locality, and is an objective junior synonym of Strophiops crassalabra Maynard and Clapp in Maynard, 1921.

Gould and Woodruff (1986:481) reported that they had seen the "Holotype" and synonymized Cerion crassalabra with C. glans.
