Biography of P. Maanen


  • Pieter Jacob van Maanen ( The Hague , November 2, 1770 - Amsterdam , November 16, 1854 ) was a Dutch professor of medicine and member of the meeting of Notabelen Van Maanen graduated in 1794 with great praise in Leiden. He was Professor of Medicine in Harderwijk from 1796 until 1808 and from 1810 to 1813 Professor of Surgery in Amsterdam . He was also a physician of King Louis Napoleon. He was delegated to the Assembly of Notables in 1814 before the Southern Zeedepartement . His brother Cornelis Felix van Maanen defended the draft Constitution during the meeting of Notabelen on behalf of the Constitutional Commission. - Edit
