David Valdez, in an elegant email remarked that the terminology "FREAK" as used in the shell world is not really positive.

So we on Mactan Island were exchanging views and ideas on it, checking many alternatives on the internet and the like. We took over the negative terminology from dealer"s lists used in the seventies and eighties and we fully agree that FREAK is not the correct terminology for unusually shaped shells which are more often unique treasures than anything else.

David Valdez came up with the word MARVEL
"marvel" (noun)
"marvelous" (adjective)

We approve the idea and will change by next Tuesday the terminology we used online from FREAK to MARVEL.
