"Cerion (Diacerion) inaguense sp. nov.

            Description.?Shell solid, cylindric, subperforate, ribbed. Color of upper whorls usually flesh-pink, ribs throughout white, lower whorls colored usually a deep chocolate between the ribs. Whorls 9-11, slightly convex, last 3 or 4 nearly parallel-sided, early whorls smoothly conic, first 1 ½ whorls smooth, remainder heavily ribbed. Spire acute, produced at an angle of 73°. Aperture rounded-ovate, reddish brown within. Mid-parietal tooth very well developed, somewhat thickened, very pale creamy brown in color. Sutures sharply defined but not deeply indented. Sculpture of rather fine, but strong, axial, white ribs, rather close-set, and averaging about 30 on the body whorl.

            Holotype, Mus. Comp. Zoöl., no 101,164, Northwest Point, Great Inagua, Bahamas, collected by Barbour, Fairchild and Greenway, February, 1933.

            This new species is larger and heavier than C. bryanti Pfr. It is much smaller than C. dalli Maynard from the same general region at Northwest Point on Great Inagua.

            A series of this new form in the Bland collection (Mus. Comp. Zoöl., no. 86,860) was considered by Bland as an unnamed variety of C. bryanti. It appears to be much closer to C. dalli than it does to C. bryanti."
